What is Charity Poker?
Charity Poker is a charity fund raising event located in downtown Cleveland. Each week, one charity is selected to provide volunteers for Tuesday/Wednesday nights. Agnon School has been selected and will receive ALL event profits for the March 15-16 Festival!
How much can Agnon raise through the Charity Poker Festival?
Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) or more! This is a unique opportunity to raise a significant amount of funds to be used throughout the school.
Why do we need YOU?
NOT to gamble! We need LOTS of volunteers to deal, help collect money, seat players at their tables and to have fun.
Do volunteers need to have poker experience?
Absolutely not! We can teach you the first day you volunteer! Or you can help in areas where training isn’t needed.
If you are experienced, please note this in the comment section when you register below. The more experienced and faster you are, or the quicker you learn, the more hands you will deal and the more money we will raise!
Who can volunteer?
Anyone 18 or older. Alumni, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, neighbors, teachers & administrators, anyone at all, 18 or older. It takes a village… (You need to be 21 to play, but only 18 to volunteer!)
Do volunteers get paid?
No – you’re a volunteer! But we will provide AIP credit, for those who need it, for you and every non-Agnon friend you bring. The real payout will be seeing the good that comes from your efforts and the fun you’ll have.
Can I volunteer for more than 1 time slot?
Absolutely!! We need many volunteers. If you can’t work an entire shift, let us know what works for you.
What will the crowd be like?
Most of the players are regulars who understand this is a charity event staffed by volunteers. They have played with other volunteer dealers with limited experience. Profanity, smoking and drinking are not permitted. Last year’s Agnon volunteers had a blast!
How can you help?
- Email Laura Leventhal RIGHT NOW to volunteer for a shift.
- Gather a group of friends (or your book group, your lunch buddies, or your playdate moms) and volunteer together!
- Email this page to friends so they can volunteer, too.

What: Agnon nights at the Nautica Charity Poker Festival
When: Tues/Wed., March 15 -16. 3:30 – midnight each day
Where: 2249 Elm Street, on the west bank of the Flats. Parking is $3.00. For a map, go to http://www.nauticacharitypoker.org/location.html.
AND: if you were there last year please note the Festival has moved across the street – we’ll send all volunteers a map – and weekday events have been running with A FILLED HOUSE – 20+ tables!
